Mr Glenny – Kidney Disease and Constipation
Mr Glenny is a noble 12 year old male castrated tabby cat who presented with kidney disease and ongoing constipation.
He has had a long history of digestive issues, abdominal cramps, furballs, severe constipation and early kidney disease. He was on maintenance laxatives and needed the occasional enema.
Even though his diet was a non-processed raw food diet, he still vomited and had digestive issues. He is now on a home-made non-processed diet which he loves eating and supports him well. It is important that home-made diets are balanced and advice from a professional is required if this is undertaken.
Treatment Goals: To support the gastrointestinal system, avoid constipation/furballs, and abdominal discomfort. To provide kidney and immune support.
Integrative Treatment Plan: Herbs, Homotoxicology, Probiotics, Omega 3’s, Vitamins, Fibre and Slippery Elm were introduced. He was also put on a phosphorus binder to help support his kidneys. A prebiotic (TEEF) was also put into his water to help with the gingivitis. Ozone gel was used to support his sore bottom. Outcome: His normal signs of aging have improved, the stomach cramps have resolved and he is now passing his stool regularly and comfortably. He no longer needs laxatives and enemas. His gums are healthier and it will be interesting to retest his kidney profiles as his owner feels that his kidney disease appears to have also improved as he is urinating less frequently. Most importantly his vitality and general well-being have returned, he meows and chats again.
His owner says he is now finally tolerates his food better than ever and his energy levels continue to be amazing. He is a lot more active than he was the last couple of years.
Owners Feedback:
When I consulted Jacqui, our beloved cat Glenny aka ‘Mr. G’ had started aging quite rapidly. He was suffering from painful constipation and the stomach cramps he used to have occasionally had become more frequent. Glenny either had to take a laxative or have frequent enemas. The laxative had bad side-effects and the enemas were majorly stressful for him and me.
I was already feeding a high quality raw food diet. Mr. G also began to show signs of kidney disease, and suffered from gingivitis.
Jacqui worked absolute magic. She supported me to adjust the diet for Glenny and supplied us with the right herbal supplements.
All the things, that conventional vets describe as normal signs of aging have improved. Glenny has no stomach cramps anymore and goes to the toilet pain and medication free. His kidney disease appears to be reversing and his gums look much better.
He has more energy than he had in a while and bounces around happy and vital. Jacqui has not only helped Glenny to get better, she has also helped me through the process in being positive, relaxed and empowering.
It makes me feel excited to see holistic vet-care and advice on healthy pet nutrition becoming more common. So much stress, pain and cost can be saved through often simple solutions.
Thank you Jacqui
