A snapshot of how we work
Works with conventional medicine |
Embraces a holistic diagnostic approach |
Tailored consultation and treatment plan |
Integrating Complementary Medicine with your conventional veterinary practice offers you and your pets additional tools to improve health and well-being. This is especially rewarding when conventional medicine has failed to improve the quality of an animal’s life.
Herbal medicine enhances physiological function and health by addressing the underlying disease and supporting organ function. Holistic medicine doesn't try and compete with conventional medicine, rather it endeavours to compliment it. |
Veterinary Botanical Medicine (Herbal Medicine) embraces a holistic diagnostic approach where treatment principles are based on the concept that a healthy body is capable of resisting disease and maintaining balance.
The aim of this integrative approach is to alleviate symptoms and improve general wellness of the animal. This is undertaken within the framework of both conventional (working with your veterinarian) and complementary modalities; addressing potential expected outcomes, side effects, benefits and costs of each option. |
The initial consultation will cost $220.00. This involves a 45/50 minute consult plus a comprehensive report addressing the history, treatment goals/expected outcomes, treatment philosophy, herbal prescription, potential herb-drug interactions/contraindications, along with dietary and other advice.
Generally a follow up appointment at $120.00 for 30 minutes is advised initially 3-4 weeks after the original appointment. Book online now. |
Why take a holistic approach?
The emerging scientific evidence validating the efficacy of Herbal Medicine in Veterinary Medicine Is growing exponentially. With the development of antimicrobial resistance, environmental contamination, chronic disease states and side effects of drugs, other treatment modalities need to be incorporated. The utilisation of complementary therapies looks at shifting the mainstream focus to a more sustainable and eco friendly paradigm.
My vision is to optimise every patients health by utilising the bodies innate ability to heal and maintain itself. In striving to reach a healthy state of balance and wellbeing, the ultimate aim is to achieve lifelong health.
The philosophy is aimed at treating the body as a whole being and not just focusing on presenting symptom/s. The body naturally wants to heal, so attaining optimum health through nutrition, herbal supplements and other holistic modalities will enhance this process and potentially prevent/treat disease.
Having treated many cases successfully utilising the support of Veterinary Botanical Medicine and other holistic modalities I am confident that it is a safe (minimal side effects) additional treatment in disease management. It is invaluable to have such a powerful treatment option in the form of Holistic Medicine, improving the quality of life, vitality and well-being of many animals.
